IPCPR’s federal affairs team represents the interests of retail tobacconists in Washington, D.C. on issues of concern to their small businesses. IPCPR actively tracks federal legislative activity, monitors regulatory practices related to the industry, educates Members of Congress, and vigorously engages in the process to reduce burdens on retail tobacconists. The objective of IPCPR’s federal affairs team is to foster a political climate conducive to the production, marketing, sale, and enjoyment of premium tobacco products in the United States.

PCPR’s state affairs team represents the interests of retail tobacconists in state capitols across the country on issues that have a principal impact on their businesses. IPCPR monitors relevant state legislation, educates elected officials on the industry, and engages in legislative battles when appropriate. The objective of IPCPR’s state affairs team is to affect the passage of legislation that may place a disproportionate burden on our members and their customers, thereby impacting the ability of retail tobacconists to successfully operate and market premium tobacco products.
